At the end of May, Novel Baswedan had membrane implant operations for his eyes. Doctors expected that it will stimulate the growth of optic nerve and membrane in his eyes. However, in mid-June, the doctors decided to lift the implant.
They reasoned that Novel’s eyes often suffer increased pressure that caused pain. Nevertheless, the eye implants slightly helped recover his eyesight, particularly the growth of optic nerve and membrane in his right eye.
Today’s major surgery is scheduled as the doctors could not see any progress in Novel Baswedan's left eye.
