TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Corruption Watch (ICW), Aceh Transparent Society (MaTA), and Polling Center conducted an anti-corruption dissemination poll in Indonesia and Aceh. The results show that political parties gain the lowest level of trust from the public. 

Polling Center researcher Frazna Fadilla explained that the poll conducted in Aceh involved 457 respondents in 21 regencies or cities. As many as 2,235 respondents were involved across Indonesia.

About 79 percent of respondents in Aceh trusts the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for its commitment to eradicating corruption. 

Meanwhile, political parties gain the lowest level of publc trust with 29 percent of votes. Respondents believe that a large number of political party members have been involved in corruption cases. 

Non-governmental organizations were the second most trusted with a total point of 67 percent followed by President Joko Widodo or okowi with 66 percent.

About 32 percent of Aceh respondents agree that the government is currently serious in handling corruption cases, while about the same percentage of respondents think otherwise.

“Meanwhile, 49 percent of Indonesian respondents think that the government is serious in fighting corruption,” said Franza.
