TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Politician Amien Rais will lead a long march in support of the Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) tomorrow. Five to 10,000 people are expected to join the so-called 287 rally.
“Insha Allah (If God wills it), tomorrow we will carry out a ‘constitutional jihad’, a peaceful rally,” said Slamet Maarif, the chairman of Presidium Alumni 212 (the ‘alumni’ of the anti-Ahok rally held on December 2 last year).

Maarif said that Islamic organizations will express their support of HTI in their judicial review of the government regulation in lieu of law (Perppu) on mass organizations. Some will also file an application for a judicial review of the same to the Constitutional Court (MK).
Earlier, HTI filed a judicial review of the Perppu on mass organizations with the Constitutional Court. The regulation was issued to ban organizations that contravene the Pancasila ideology and the 1945 Constitution.
There is no statement yet provided by Amien Rais regarding the so-called 287 rally.
