TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The rupiah was trading weaker by one bps to Rp13,309 per US dollar in Jakarta inter-bank market this morning.
Samuel Sekuritas economist Rangga Cipta said in Jakarta today that the rupiah’s gain against US dollar ended due to domestic issues.
“The rumor of cabinet reshuffle and the impending release of GDP growth data in the second quarter of 2017 fuel slight uncertainty,” he said.

Nevertheless, he went on, the pressures on the rupiah were relatively limited as the US dollar remains under pressure at the global market following The Fed monetary policy that sends a rather dovish signal and after the IMF cuts its forecast for the US gross domestic product growth.
Binaartha Sekuritas analyst Reza Priyambada added that political uncertainty in the US has fueled negative sentiments against US dollar that would allow the rupiah to move upward.
