TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police’s Criminal Investigation Corps (Bareskrim) recently questioned Pertamina former president director Karen Agustiawan and former human resource director Waluyo, on Tuesday, July 25 in relation to an investigation into an alleged corruption surrounding the company’s asset selling.
Corruption crime unit head Adj. Sr. Comr. Wawan Sumantri said that the questionings were aimed at solving a case involving Pertamina senior vice president Gathot Harsono, who has been named as a suspect.

Waluyo declined to comment after the questioning. Meanwhile, journalists were not able to ask Karen for a comment.
Gathot allegedly violated Pertamina’s procedures related to the selling of a land in Simprug, South Jakarta. The piece of land was sold for Rp1.16 billion even though the real value was Rp9.25 billion.

According to the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), the graft case caused Rp40.9 billion in state loses based on the 2011 appraisal calculations.
