TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Gerindra Deputy Chairman, Fadli Zon, said that his party has opted to withdraw from the KPK inquiry committee because it was not effective. The existence of the committee is currently being rejected by three factions of the parliament.
Fadli explained that the party has always been against the inquiry committee since it was established. However, Gerindra chose to join the inquiry committee in order to supervise the committee internally.

“There are at least three factions that haven’t sent its representatives yet. This is one of the reasons why Gerindra considers the committee ineffective,” Fadli said on Tuesday, July 25.

However, Fadli clarified that Gerindra will respect the ongoing inquiry process at the House of Representatives, while waiting for the committee to present its findings.
Fadli argues that the public needs to wait for the KPK inquiry committee to announce its investigation results before jumping to a conclusion that the House is attempting to weaken KPK.
