10 Demands Delivered to Jokowi on National Children Day

Indonesian President Joko Widodo is seen chattering with a number of children at the celebration of the National Children Day in Pekanbaru, Riau, July 23rd 2017.

TEMPO.CO, Pekanbaru - National Child Forum (FAN) representative submitted 10 demands to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo in celebrating 2017 National Children’s Day in Pekanbaru.

"We, children of Indonesia, first demand to improve access to birth certificate services especially in remote areas," FAN representative declared in Riauon Sunday (23/7).

The second demand is to increase the role of FAN in development process. The third demand is involve community’s figures in the implementation of marriage after reaching adulthood. The fourth is support child friendly rearing and the fifth is enhance control on narcotic distribution and protect children from advertisement, promotion, sponsor and cigarette smoke.

The sixth demand is improve children friendly health facility and save children from poor nutrition. The seventh is increase education quality by implementing 5 days of school and admission zoning system. The eighth is increase the use of healthy internet based on the spirit of children literacy. The ninth is improve learning for disaster safety for children residing in disaster-prone areas.

The last is protect children from any kinds of exploitation and sexual abuse.

"Submitted in Riau 21th July 2017 to President Jokowi, on behalf of children of Indonesia," FAN representative said.
