President Jokowi said that assertiveness should be presented to drug dealers who come from foreign countries. He said that these foreign drug dealers should not be tolerated.

The seventh Indonesian President stated that Indonesia is facing a national emergency on drug-related crimes.

Jokowi asserted his stance in relation to drugs in response to a statement made by PPP Chairman Romahurmuziy when he talked about the danger of drugs. According to his record, Indonesia currently has five million active drug users, and as many as 50 users die each day.

President Jokowi has expressed his assertiveness towards the fight against drugs. He also supports death penalty for drug convicts. However, he also considers the moratorium whenever the public put pressures on death penalty controversy
