Campus Has Yet to Give Sanction to Students Who Perform Bullying

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Gunadarma University has yet to give sanctions to three students that have performed acts of bullying since the investigation has yet to be completed. The sanctions of these students will be based upon the results of the investigation done by the campus' management.
“If the team is able to obtain evidence, then the act will be considered as a heavy violation. The perpetrators of this act will be expelled from the campus,” says Gunadarma University's Vice Rector of Student Affairs, Irwan Bastian, Tuesday, July 18.

According to Irwan, based on the order of the University, a student that has violated the rules will be subject to sanctions. The sanctions will act as a warning for a dismissal. Even if there is a slight criminal element to the actions performed, the campus can submit a case to the police.
Three students of the Gunadarma University have performed acts of bullying towards a student bearing the initials of “MF”. The action of the three students was recorded and uploaded to the Internet. This video has become viral and has since been heavily criticized by netizens.
The three students of the Gunadarma University that are allegedly the perpetrators of this act have already met with “MF” and his parents. The three students have directly asked the family for forgiveness. The family has submitted the bullying case to be investigated.
“The perpetrators confessed that they were simply joking around,“ says Irwan. “We have to make sure we will give sanctions to these students after the investigation has concluded.”
