TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An earthquake, measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale, rocked Gorontalo province at 7:12 p.m. on Saturday (15/7), the Meteorological, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported.
The epicenter of the earthquake was at 122.05 degrees eastern longitude and 0.41 degrees northern latitude at a depth of 100 kilometers.

It was about 40 kilometers northwest of Boalemo District, Gorontalo Province, but the earthquake had no potential to trigger a tsunami.
The tremors were felt in all parts of the province and caused panic among residents who rushed out of their homes. The agency is still waiting for a report on possible damage because of the earthquake until this story was filed.
