TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The queue of cars stuck in traffic at the Cikopo-Palimanan or Cipali toll-road stretched to the Palimanan-Kanci (Palikanci) toll-road. The queue of slow moving cars started from the 188 KM point to the 190 KM point of the Cipali toll-road.
Agus Hartoyo, traffic management manager at Jasa Marga explained that the number of vehicles traveling back to Jakarta is increasing.
“The queue of cars at the Palimanan toll-booth ended at 190 km point of the Palikanci toll road,” said Agus today.
According to Agus, even though the number of vehicles suddenly is increasing, he believes that it is not the peak of the counter-exodus period. Agus predicted that the traffic would be even more congested tomorrow.
According to Agus, travelers prefer to rest at home for one or two days before heading back to work on Monday, July 3.
Data compiled by Cipali toll road operator PT Lintas Marga Sedaya (LMS), from Wednesday to Thursday, the number of vehicles heading back to Jakarta through Palimanan toll booth reached 51,879, increasing by 59 percent when compared to the previous day that at 32,523 vehicles.
