TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Liga 1 side Madura United FC will extend the contract of their marquee player Peter Odemwingie. The team has secured a sponsorship deal to fund the contract extension.
"Alhamdulillah (thank God), Madura United have secured a new sponsor as the main sponsor next season. The agreement will allow a contract extension of Peter Odimwingie for next season funded by the sponsor," said Annisa Zhafarina, Corporate Secretary of Madura United FC, in a press release received by Antara news agency on Monday, June 26.
The signing of Peter Odemwingie contract extension might be concluded by early July.
Marquee player Peter Odemwingie is among ten Madura United FC players whose contract will be extended by manager Haruna Soemitro.
Other players include youngsters Rizky Dwi Febrianto, Eriyanto, Saldi, Panggih Prio Sembodho, Tanjung Sugiarto and Rifad Marasabessy, as well as senior players Fachrudin Ariyanto, Bayu Gatra, Engelberd Sani and Fabiano Da Rosa Beltram.
"There rest will be evaluated at the end of the season," Haruna Soemitro explained.
