TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - City owned bus operator PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) will start its operational hours at 09:00 am during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
“The operational hour adjustment is decided to provide an opportunity for drivers, shelter officers, and bus service officers to conduct the Eid prayers,” Transjakarta president director Budi Kaliwono said on Friday, June 23.
Budi added that the free tour buses will serve passengers starting from 1 pm. Transjakarta will provide at least 21 free tour buses for those wishing to take a tour in Jakarta and visit museums.
“Jakarta residents, as well as domestic and foreign tourists, can take a free ride provided by Transjakarta to see Jakarta,” Budi explained.
Currently, Transjakarta serves six tour routes with different categories. For instance, the History of Jakarta category takes the passenger to Istqlal Mosque. The Modern Jakarta category passes Istiqlal Mosque and Bundaran Hotel Indonesia.
The Art and Culinary bus passes Istiqlal Mosque and the Old Town. The Jakarta Skycrapper passes Istiqlal Mosque and Bundaran Senayan. The Open Space bus takes passengers to the City Hall and Kalijodo Child-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA).
Finally, the Cagar Budaya or cultural preservation bus passes Istiqlal Mosque and Tanjung Priok.
