To reduce the long queue of the mudik traveler, Jasa Marga officials sped-up transactions at the Cikarang Utama toll booth. The state toll operator would also conduct situational vehicle reroutes, directing cars to exit through west Cikarang III toll exit and enter it again through the west Cikarang I toll booth.
“We try to make the traffic into a form of canalization,” said Yoga. This is effective to avoid the bottleneck during the toll road’s 29th and 30th-kilometer.
Jasa Marga Spokesman stated that the mudik traffic was not completely stagnant and that it continued to move despite at the speed of under 20 kilometers per hour.
