TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia Jordan Business Council was launched (IJBC) yesterday in Jakarta.
IJBC chairman Mayra Andrea said that the council is formed to boost relations between the two countries. She said that Indonesia is capable of increasing its exports to Jordan.
“In line with President Joko Widodo’s instruction to strengthen relations with non-traditional export markets,” Mayra said yesterday.
Mayra added that IJBC will discuss trade relations between Indonesia and Jordan, among others. The executive board has set up financial and export-import training programs this year.
IJBC was found on October 20 last year and was declared on March 15. The council expects to attract businessmen who have links to or wish to cooperate with Jordan to become its members.
