TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor-elect Anies Baswedan said that he will utilize corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds taken from private companies, in addition to the Jakarta Budget, to run his programs.
"If CSR funds are well-managed through an institution for various activities, they will be enough [to develop Jakarta]," Anies said on Tuesday, April 25, 2017.
According to Anies, Jakarta is a city with the highest number of private companies in Indonesia.
"Imagine if we have a consortium to manage CSR funds," Anies added.
However, Anies believes that the Jakarta Budget will be enough to finance his programs.
"Hopefully it will be enough. The problem lies in the management. The remaining funds will be quite large, so we can optimize the funds," Anies said.
During the Jakarta gubernatorial campaign Anies promised a number of programs, such as the zero down payments for housing, integrated transportation program, One-District-One-Center for Entrepreneurs (OK OCE), and others.
According to Anies, if the Jakarta Budget is well-planned and well-executed, there will be enough funds for all programs.
