TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Public works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono checked on the construction progress of Karalloe dam in Gowa regency, South Sulawesi. The dam is expected to support water supply and food self-sufficiency inSouth Sulawesi.
Since it was built by PT Nindya Karya in 2013, the construction of the dam has only managed to achieve 12.7 percent completion.
“I demand all the team from Pompengan-Jeneberang river center and the contractor to significantly speed up the pace so that the delay will not be too far from the original target,” Basuki said on Saturday (22/4).
The delay of the construction is due to the problems in land acquisition. At the moment, 94.48 percent of land has been acquired, around 215.04 hectares out of 229.28 hectares. The remaining 14.24 hectares spread across Tompobulu and Biringbulu districts will be acquired this year.
