TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The campaign team of Jakarta`s gubernatorial candidate Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, or Ahok, and his running mate Djarot Saiful Hidayat claimed to have found a number of unfair play in the second leg of elections today, April 19. The team said that in a number of polling stations (TPS), there were defrauds, intimidations, and lack of ballots.
"First, we found that there weren’t enough ballots, some TPS are missing over 100 ballots," campaign team member Putu Artha said in a written statement Wednesday, April 19.
The polling stations are mostly those located in North Jakarta like the Kelapa Gading and Pulo Gadung district.
"We ask the Jakarta Election Committee to take actions and provide more ballots in those polling stations," he said.
He said there were also alleged intimidations against voters in some polling stations in Kali Deres and Ancol. In Ancol, a crowd of people wearing "certain attributes" gathered, "making Ahok's supporters reluctant to come to the voting stations," Putu said.
Additionally, at Tugu Selatan, a man voted using a C6 form that belonged to someone with a different name. "Our witnesses who made the report saw it with their own eyes," he said.
The man has been apprehended and will be interrogated.
"We want everyone to help monitor this election and keep it honest, fair, and transparent." he added.
The voting had ended at 13:00 Jakarta time and the counting is now being down in polling stations across the capital.
