TEMPO.CO, Ponorogo - A joint Search and Rescue (SAR) Team encountered considerable difficulties in searching 25 victims of landslide in Banaran village, Pulung subdistrict, Ponorogo district, East Java. The search was still unsucessful as it reached the eighth day on Saturday(8/4).
“To this day, we have not search through the danger zone. It is too risky,” Ponorogo Landslide SAR and Evacuation Coordinator Asnawi Suroro on Saturday (8/4).
The search was scheduled to end on Saturday (8/4), but it was temporarily extended since the residents of Banaran village expressed their demand of extension through the chief of the village Sarnu.
Sarnu said that the residents of the village still wish to find their family members.
For the search of the following day on Sunday (9/4), Asnawi and his team planned to search along the river cliff. The search has not covered the area due to danger of the mushy soil.
