TEMPO.CO, Magelang - At least three districts in Magelang regency, Central Java, were hit by landslides following a heavy rain on Saturday (25/2), according to Edy Susanto, Head of Magelang Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD).
Edy added that those affected districts are Sawangan, Kajoran, and Borobudur.
As of time of writing, there is no information yet whether or not there are casualties in the landslide.
"In Sawangan district, the landslide came from a cliff measuring around 6-8 meters and the width of 7 meters,” he said, adding that the landslide also carried trees from the cliff, thus blocking roads.
Edy added that a heavy machine is needed to clean the blocked roads from landslide materials. He also said that around the landslide sites, there are still cracks on the ground.
"We urge the people to stay vigilant because there are likely more landslides,” he said.
