There has been a number of Rafflesia flowers that bloomed on January. “The location is one kilometer into the forest. You would have to travel by foot in order to get there,”Syatria said. The distance between the forest and City of Padang is around 130 kilometers.

Tourists are estimated to fill the location during the peak of its bloom. There were hundreds of tourist daily visitations on the previous Rafflesia bloom. Other than domestic tourists, it also attracted tourists from Australia, Germany, and England.

Local government has prepared a number of facilities in order to support the big number of visitors at the forest, such as building the entrance gate leading to the location so that tourists can easily find the location. The gate is located on the road heading to Pasaman from Bukittinggi.

The local officials have also formed a group that is specially tasked to provide service for the tourists. “Visitors can also indulge themselves with a Luwak coffee at the location,” Syatria said.
