TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama will face another hearing of blasphemy trial today, January 24, in the Agriculture Minister’s auditorium, Jakarta.
The court will hear testimonies of witnesses brought by the public prosecutors. “Tomorrow [Tuesday], we will examine three plaintiffs and two fact witnesses,” Ahok’s defense lawyer Rolas Sitinjak said in Jakarta Police Headquarters on Monday, January 23, 2017.
Today's witnesses are Yuli Hardi, a village head on the Seribu Islands; Nurkholis Majid, a temporary worker at Jakarta administration; Ibnu Baskoro, a plaintiff resided in Jakarta; Muhammad Asrori Saputra, a plaintiff domiciled in North Sumatra; and Iman Sudirman, a plaintiff from Palu.
Ibnu, Asroi and Imam failed to appear in court last week, prompting the panel of judges to adjourn the trial.
Public prosecutors had brought eight witnesses to testify in Ahok’s blasphemy trial so far.
