TEMPO.CO, Klaten - Deddy Suwandi, lawyer of Klaten Regent Sri Hartini, will file a request for justice collaborator status for his client to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
“We have been thinking about it. We will convey the request to the KPK in the next questioning,” the Klaten Regent said in a phone interview with Tempo on Sunday, January 22, 2016.
Sri Hartini is a suspect in alleged bribes for appointments in Klaten administration. In a sting operation in Hartini’s official residence on December 30, the KPK team found Rp2.08 billion, US$5,700 and Sin$2,035 in cash. Two days later, the anti-graft agency found roughly Rp3 billion in her oldest son Andy Purnomo’s room.
Deddy said he had held talks with the KPK about the plan to file a request to become a justice collaborator. “She wants to reveal the case, the irregularities that she had been aware of,” he said.
Before taking office as Klaten regent for the 2015-2020 term, Sri Hartini served as Klaten deputy regent for the 2010-2015 term. The regent was Sunarna, who is the husband of current Klaten Deputy Regent Sri Mulyani. The deputy regent has been named as acting Klaten regent after the KPK arrested Sri Hartini.
