In Response to SBY`s Tweet, Jokowi: We Must Not Whine A Lot

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo finally responded to the latest grumblings of former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) on Twitter on the spread of hoaxes that continues to rise.
According to Jokowi, the issue of hoaxes should not be whined about.
“All countries are also facing (hoaxes). In my opinion, we must not whine a lot," the President said after taking part in the 2017 Archery Open Competition in Bogor on Sunday (22/1).
As previously reported, former President SBY took to Twitter recently and tweeted his view on the issue of hoaxes. His tweet was ended with *SBY*, meaning that he himself wrote it.
"Allah, The one and only God. How has the country become like this? Disseminators of slander and hoaxes are in power and prevailing. When will people and the weak win? *SBY*?."
The tweet was met with various responses and several netizens even accused him of being behind the hoaxes.
Jokowi went on to say that Indonesia is actually also fighting against hoaxes. Nevertheless, he said, the result cannot be obtained instantly.
According to Jokowi, the spread of hoaxes can be eradicated if the people can really practice anew habit in communication, both in the real world and in the cyber world.
The new habit, he said is to build vales of politeness and courtesy in communicating and expressing thoughts n on social media.
"We must not incite hatred. We must not slander others. We must not spread hoaxes. We must not spread hate messages. That’s why I always say everywhere,” the President said.
Commenting whether SBY’s tweet was viewed as an attack to his administration, the President did not give a concrete answer, saying instead: "For me, working is building optimism. Working is encouraging the people to be optimistic,” the President said.
