TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A recent survey conducted by Poltracking Indonesia revealed that competition between three Jakarta governor candidates for the 2017 Gubernatorial Election is getting tighter.
Executive Director of Poltracking Hanta Yuda, said that currently the Agus Yudhoyono and Sylviana Murni Pair is still leading the survey, followed by the Basuki Tjahaja Purnama-Djarot Saiful Hidayat, and the Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno pair in second and third place, respectively.
Currently, the electability of the three candidate pairs is recorded at 27.92 percent (Agus-Sylvi), 28.88 percent (Basuki-Djarot), and 28.63 percent (Anies-Sandiaga).
"All [the results] are still within the margin of error. The survey is still unable to [predict] the winner of the regional election," Hanta said on Thursday, January 19, 2017.
Hanta explained that the survey, which was conducted on January 9 until January 13, 2017, has 3.46 percent margin of error and 95 percent confidence level.
The survey was conducted on 800 respondents spread in five administrative cities in the Special Capital of Jakarta province.
"We maintain the accuracy of our [survey] methodology. Our samples can be held accountable as the representatives of the Jakarta people," Hanta said.
The survey also noted that 12.24 percent of Jakarta residents have not made up their mind on an electable candidate while the other 27 percent claimed to be swing voters.
