TEMPO.CO, Pontianak - West Kalimantan Police are currently investigating the destination address of 100 detonators package that was being sent through an expedition service at Luwu, South Sulawesi, on Tuesday, January 17, 2017.
“The team of West Kalimantan's Police Directorate of General Crimes is investigating the case,” said Comr. Suhadi S.W. on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. However, Suhadi cannot reveal the detail of the case since it would hamper the proceedings.
The suspicious packages were revealed through an X-ray machine detection of a cargo at Hassanudin Airport. After a thorough check, the authorities found three packages filled with detonators. The box was sent from an expedition service at Luwu District from someone named Ayung.
The package was originally meant to be sent to someone with the initials of UD that lives at Pal 5, Pontianak City, West Kalimantan. Based on Tempo’s sources, the West Kalimantan police, along with South Sulawesi police, had started an investigation on the destination address since the finding.
The region of the destination address directly borders with Kubu Raya District, which is a residential development area. The area connects a regional agricultural center and a fruit plantation. The traffic in the region is quite crowded.
