TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Dutch visitors of the tourism market event `Vakantiebeurs 2017` in Utrecht are said to have really interested in trying out various Indonesian traditional beverages and coffee. A barista at the Indonesian pavilion, Deryl Juniar, said that the Dutch visitors really like spiced beverages.

According to Daryl, the spices he prepared, among others, are passion fruit, tamarind, turmeric, cardamom, cinnamon, clove, lemongrass, Javanese tamarind, palm sugar, pandanus leaf and nutmeg. "Everything is immediately mixed by a mixologist in Indonesia pavilion (for visitors)," he said, Saturday, local time.

Deryl joined the team of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in the event that is held from January 10 to 15.

The Vakantiebeurs tourism market is one of the renowned event in the field of international travel. Indonesia also use them to promote regions in the country that could become tourist destinations.

Deputy Assistant of the Market Development for Europe, Middle East, America and Africa of the Ministry of Tourism, Nia Niscaya, said that the government had facilitated a number of industry players in Indonesia to promote tourism in this event.

The major theme that was used to promote the Indonesian tourism is still in the promotional programs of Wonderful Indonesia. According to Nia, the government had anticipated the growth of foreign tourists from 9.5 million in 2014 to 20 million in 2019.

One way to achieve the target is that Indonesia issued a short stay visa-free policy to 169 countries, including the Netherlands.

In the Vakantiebeurs 2017 event, Nia added, Indonesia is targeting to raise 10 percent of business deals and contracts.
