TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) agency has reported that an earthquake has struck Pangandaran District, West Java. “A 5.1-magnitude earthquake occurred at 4:02 am local time,” the BMKG Public Relations director Hary Djatmiko told reporters on Tuesday, January 03, 2017.
Hary said that the quake occurred 133 kilometers southeast of Pangandaran. The epicenter of the quake was at the latitude of 8.88 degrees south and longitude of 108.72 degrees east, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
There were no immediate reports of any casualty or damage.
