Indonesia Still Waiting for Trump`s Policies, Minister Says

TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno LP Marsudi said the government is still waiting for the policies to be implemented by US President-elect Donald Trump before decide on policies related to diplomatic relations with the US.
"We’re still waiting for the policies to be implemented by Trump because we’ve only known his campaign promises so far,” Retno said in Yogyakarta on Friday (30/12).
According to Retno, promises that Trump made before the election have been the concern of the Indonesian government, especially as to how the promises will be translated in US foreign policies.
Nevertheless, no matter who becomes the US President, Indonesia as a strategic partner will always be given a special attention by the US.
"Both countries have strategic positions. It will determine our relations with the US,” she said.
