Klaten Regent Arrested In Sting-Op, KPK Chairman Confirms

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Agus Rahardjo, confirmed the arrest of Klaten Regent, Sri Hartini. "Yes, wait for the press conference," Agus said on Friday, December 30, 2016.
Agus did not reveal the details of the case involving Sri Hartini, but he appreciates the investigator’s work. "My appreciation is for the men in the field that never gets tired, and doesn't have any vacation," Sri said.
Sri Hartini was inaugurated as Klaten Regent on February 17, 2016. Sri, who is a politician from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, also received an award early in the year, for being the first female regent that was chosen through an election.
Previously, Sri was the Deputy Regent of Klaten from 2005 to 2015.
