TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo is slated to unveil a border outpost in Mota’ain, Belu District, East Nusa Tenggara, which directly border Timor-Leste.

East Nusa Tenggara Regional Secretary Public Relations Bureau director Samuel Pakereng said that the President will fly from Manado after attending Christmas celebration. Jokowi is expected to arrive in the city of Kupang at 8:55 local time. “The President will spend the night in Kupang,” Samuel said on Tuesday, December 27, 2016.

On Wednesday, December 28, 2016, the President and his entourage will head to Belu District and inaugurate a border outpost in Mota’ain.

There are three outposts in the border between Indonesia and Timor Leste. The outposts are located at Belu District’s Mota’ain and Motamasin and North Central Timor District, which serve as entry points to neighboring country Timor-Leste.

After visiting the border outposts, the President will visit Silawan community health center (puskesmas) in the border between Indonesia and Timor Leste. “At the puskesmas, the President will distribute supplemental food for toddlers,” he said.

President Jokowi will also visit a border outpost in Motamasin by the presidential helicopter. On the sidelines of his visit, he will inaugurate newly established East Nusa Tenggara Governor’s office in Kupang. “The governor’s office inauguration may be held tomorrow morning,” he said.
