TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Police Chief Inspector General Mochamad Iriawan arrived at the scene where the terrorist raid took place in Babakan Village, South Tangerang, on Wednesday, December 21, 2016.

Anti-Terrorism police squad, Detachment 88 (Densus 88), raided a house that was rented by the terrorist group. Three suspects were shot dead at the scene while one terrorist suspect arrested earlier in a different location was taken into custody.

Three ambulances have arrived at the scene, according to Tempo’s observation, while five K-9 units were sent out to search the location. Members of the public can be seen filling up the perimeter of the crime scene behind police lines.

Detachment 88 conducted their arrest at two separate locations in South Tangerang, on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. The first target was Adam, who was arrested at a public road in Serpong meanwhile the other location is at Setu District, South Tangerang, Banten.

“Based on the interrogation, it’s known that they planned on conducting an act of terror during the end of 2016,” Says Commissioner Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono, Jakarta Police’s Head of Public Relations, on Wednesday, December 21, 2016.

According to Argo, Adam’s arrest took place at 08.00 AM, Western Indonesian Time. Adam confessed that they had planned to bomb a police post located near Eka Hospital, Serpong, Tangerang. The raid that took place at Setu killed three suspects, Omen, Iwan, and Helmi.

“The suspect resisted by reaching for a bomb that has been constructed. [We] then took immediate action which caused the death of the three suspects,” Argo said.
