TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo Satya Heragandhi guarantees the profit from developing Jakarta’s intermediate treatment facility (ITF) located in Sunter, North Jakarta, by partnering with a Finnish-based company, Fortum Finland.
“The investment will be split between us and Fortum Finlandia. We’re currently discussing the details,” Satya said on Friday, December 16, 2016. “Jakarta will definitely have the majority.”
According to Satya, the ITF will be the first in-town waste management being built in Jakarta. Other than processing waste, he said, ITF Sunter will be able to produce 40 Megawatt of power.
Satya explained that the Sunter ITF investment project is worth US$220 million. “The value of investment reaches US$220 million or almost Rp3 trillion with a BOT (build operative transfer) investment pattern for 25 years,” he said.
Acting Jakarta Governor Soni Sumarsono hopes that the project can be a strategic solution to waste management in Jakarta and a source of environmentally friendly energy source. “We hope this project can become a great energy source in the coming years,” he said.
