TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 'Rumah Cemara' organization, located in Bandung, is nominated in the Cityzens Giving Manchester City program. Rumah Cemara plans to empower homeless children in Bandung to overcome the problems of HIV-AIDS and illegal drug addiction that surrounds them.
Other organizations that were nominated come from Melbourne (Australia), Manchester (England), New York (United States of America), Beijing (China), and Mexico City (Mexico). The program’s intention is to empower youth’s football practice activities that has a social impact.
The organizations intend to make football as a solution for social problems such as homeless children, disabled children, unemployment and victims of violence. The City Football Foundation accommodates social activities from football clubs such as Manchester City, Melbourne City, and the New York City Football Club.
Currently 'Rumah Cemara' sits in second, with 39,000 votes. Mexico is currently the leader with 48,000 people voting for them. The more people vote, the higher the grant they’ll receive. “The total fund will be divided for organizations in those six countries,” Rijki said.
