TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Cabinet Secretary, Pramono Anung, said that the Presidential Palace was the main target of four terrorist suspects recently arrested in Bekasi. Currently, the Police are still investigating the suspects' intention of attacking the State Palace.
"The investigation hasn't ended. There's still a series of things that needs to be investigated further," Pramono said on Tuesday, December 13, 2016.
As reported earlier, the Police's Special Counter-Terrorism Detachment 88 had arrested four individuals suspected to be terrorists on Saturday, December 10, 2016, in Bekasi. The suspects were planning to launch a suicide bomb attack towards the State Palace on Sunday, December 11, 2016. The attackers planned to carry out the bombing during the changing of the Presidential guards.
Pramono said that the State Palace will entrust the investigation process to the Police's Detachment 88, and the Indonesian National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT).
