Met at Terminal 2 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Monday, December 12, GIAA president director M. Arif Wibowo said the route is opened as part of the airline's network expansion in the Asian region, particularly in southern Asia (Mumbai).
The flights from Jakarta to Mumbai are available three times a week on board the GA 862 plane. From Jakarta, the plane departs at 05:55 pm, arrives in Bangkok at 9:25 pm local time. The connecting flight from Bangkok to Mumbai departs at 10:20 pm and arrives at 15:00 local time the next day.
The return flight from Mumbai to Jakarta will be on GA 861, departing from Mumbai at 17.35, arriving in Bangkok at 21:55. From Bangkok, the connecting flight departs at 23:35 and arrives in Jakarta at 03:05 pm the next day.
Arif said that in 2015 the number of Indian tourists coming to Indonesia reached 270,000 thousand people. This year so far, 350,000 people from India had traveled to Indonesia.
"With the number of Indian tourists that continues to increase every year, we believe Mumbai is a potential market for us," he said.
Arif hopes the opening of this route will also further strengthen bilateral relationships between Indonesia and India, through the development of connectivity between the two countries, which can support higher economic, tourism, and socio-cultural activities.
