TEMPO.CO, Mamuju - Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning Sofyan Djalil said the National Land Agency still lacks land surveyors.
As a result, he said, it can potentially slow down the process of certifying a total of 120 million of lands in 2025.
"The certification process takes a long time because of the limited number of land surveyors. As of today, we only have 1,800 land surveyors. Half of them already have other positions so they can no longer do land surveying,” Sofyan said in Mamuju, West Sulawesi on Saturday.
Sofyan added that in 2017, the ministry would recruit 3,000 independent land surveyors who will be tasked to meet the target of certifying 5 million of lands in 2017.
In the meantime, in 2018 and 2019, he said, the target is certifying 7 million lands and 9 million lands respectively.
