Former Finance Minister Marie Muhammad Passes Away

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Finance Minister Marie Muhammad died on Sunday (11/12) at the age of 77.

Marie passed away at around 01:30 am at the National Brain Center Hospital, Cawang, East Jakarta.

It is planned that Marie will be laid to rest on Sunday afternoon at Tanah Kusir cemetery in South Jakarta.

Spokesperson of Finance Ministry Lucky Al Firman said that before his death, Marie received treatment at the hospital.

“He had been ill for a long time,” Lucky said to Tempo on Sunday (11/12).

Marie was appointed as Finance Minister by former President Soeharto on 17 March 1993.
