TEMPO.CO, Depok - The number of divorce rate in Depok, West Java, is on the rise.
In 2013, at least 3,000 divorce cases were reported but the number increased into 3,400 cases and this year it is reported that 5,000 cases are reported in the city.
Responding to this, Head of Regional Regulation Establishment Agency of Depok Regional Council Farida Rachmayanti said that the draft of regional law on family endurance must be passed and enacted to reduce divorce rate in Depok.
Divorce cases in Depok, she said, are caused by several factors, among others young age when a couple gets married, unharmonious lives, economic problems, disability suffered by either the husband or the wife, and many others.
"The problems are quite complex,” she said.
