TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled a questioning on Friday, December 9, 2016, for House of Representatives members in relation to a graft case surrounding the procurement of electronic ID cards.
KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah revealed that House members to be questioned were Arif Wibowo and Khatibul Umam Wiranu.
“They will be questioned as witnesses for Sugiharto,” Febri said.
Khatibul Umam arrived at the KPK building at 10 a.m. wearing a white shirt and a gray jacket. The lawmaker from the Democratic Party directly went to the questioning waiting room. Meanwhile, Arif, a politician with the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PIDP), had not shown up.
To this date, the KPK investigators have named two suspects, namely Irman, former director general of demography and civil registry at the Home Affairs Ministry and Sugiharto, who served as former director of demography administrative information at the Demography and Civil Registry Directorate General and commitment maker official.
The KPK is still investigating roles of companies involved in the project worth Rp6 trillion (US$461.5 million). Five companies under a consortium are the state printing company Perum Percetakan Negara RI, PT Sucofindo, PT LEN Industri, PT Quadra Solution, and PT Sandipala Arthaputra.
