Telkom Indonesia Encourages Businesswomen to Go Digital

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned telecom company PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk and Indonesian Business Women Association (IWAPI) Jakarta chapter have agreed to join hands to encourage businesswomen to go digital in a bid to enhance capacity and improve competitiveness in the era of globalization.

“We are ready to support IWAPI Jakarta members to go digital through information and communication technology in their businesses,” Telkom Executive Vice President Regional II Jakarta Teuku Muda Nanta said Wednesday in a press release, as quoted by Antara news agency.

Under such cooperation framework, Telkom sets up Small-Medium Enterprise (SME) Learning Center at Telkom South Jakarta Office, which will provide information and communication technology to around 800 IWAPI Jakarta members.

Telkom has given presentation on TelkomGroup services to IWAPI members to support business productivity. Including blanja.com service, which provides free online stores to IWAPI members to facilitate online transactions and reach global consumers.

Businesswomen have been also introduced to Finpay, a digital transaction service which allows IWAPI members to provide online payment link on their social media accounts, such as facebook, instagram and twitter. Lastly, IWAPI members will receive presentation about Telkom’s mainstay product IndiHome, the company’s Triple Play service which integrates telephone, internet access and IPTV. “The internet has now become a basic need, online payment system continues to gain popularity in Indonesia. If business owners go digital, it will enable them to get more customers and enter into new markets,” he noted.

On the same occasion, IWAPI Jakarta chairwoman Tatyana Sutara expects IWAPI Goes Digital collaboration to enhance its members’ capabilities to become better businesswomen and be more competitive in the era of globalization. “We are hopeful that the synergy can provide more knowledge to members to be more competitive in the Asean Economic Community era,” she said.
