TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A 5.3-magnitude earthquake hit West Seram District in Maluku at 8:42 pm on Wednesday, December 7, 2016.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the epicenter of the quake was at a latitude of 2.93 degrees south and a longitude of 128.85 degrees east, or 54 kilometers northeast of West Seram, Maluku.
The BMKG stated that quake, that occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, has no potential to cause a tsunami.
