TEMPO.CO, Lhokseumawe - A 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck nothern and eastern coasts of Aceh province early Wednesday morning, December 7, 2016. There was no immediate report of damage. Lhokseumawe city residents, however, panicked and rushed out of their house.
Data from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) show that the 6.4-magnitude earthquake occured at 05:03:36 local time. The epicenter of the quake was at a latitude of 5.19 degrees north and a longitude of 96.36 degrees east, 84 kilometers northeast of Pidie Jaya district.
