TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Police are eyeing possible new suspects in alleged attempt to topple President Joko Widodo. The National Police Public Relations Division chief Insp. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar, however, declined comment on the possible new suspects. “Investigation is underway, we will not reveal [the name(s)],” he said yesterday.

Boy also declined comment on those involved in meetings to discuss coup attempt. Among which was a meeting in a house at Jalan Guntur No. 49 in Manggarai, South Jakarta on Wednesday at 1 pm local time.

Tempo received the invitation to the meeting titled “Consolidation of Movement and ‘Revolution Front 2016’ Press Conference”. In the invitation, the Front said that it would join Friday’s Jakarta mass rally, demanded detention of inactive Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, impeachment of President Jokowi through an extraordinary plenary session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and reinstatement of the original Constitution 1945.

The Network of Action Against Ahok (JALA) coordinator Sri Bintang Pamungkas, suspect over alleged treason, also present at the event. In a video received by Tempo, Sri Bintang said that it was time to start a revolution.

Sri Bintang and North Jakarta People’s Aliance chairman Jamran, as well as People’s Force Command chief Rizal Izal, are still under police custody. Whereas seven other suspects over alleged treason were released on Saturday, namely the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party official Eko Suryo Santjojo, former military official Brigadier General (Ret.) Adityawarman Thaha, former Army's Strategic Reserve commander Kivlan Zen, mass organization Cendana Friends’ Solidarity activist Firza Husein, Gerindra Party official Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, labor activist Alvin Indra Al Fariz and activist Ratna Sarumpaet. Musician Ahmad Dhani Prasetyo, charged for insulting the president, had also been released.

Razman Arief Nasution, Sri Bintang’s defense lawyer, said the video footage was not taken on Jalan Guntur. It was instead taken during Sri Bintang’s speech under an overpass of Pluit toll road, Kalijodo, North Jakarta. According to him, it cannot be categorized as treason. “It was only a recommendation for residents,” he said.

Jakarta Metro Police chief Insp. Gen. Mochamad Iriawan said that investigators will question suspects who have arrested on Friday again in the near future.
