TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of the Indonesian National Police General Tito Karnavian said that the large mass gathering, or Jakarta rally, held on December 2 concluded in a peaceful manner.
“I would like to extend a high appreciation to the committee and to the people attending the gathering,” Tito said in Jakarta on Friday.
Tito added that the gathering went on peacefully and was also filled with religious activities such as Fridayprayer, dzikir and mass prayers.
He also said that he did not receive any reports on trees that were damaged during the rally.
In addition, Tito also thanked members of the police and the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) who have done their tasks in accordance with the procedures.
Tito also said that similar rallies held in Medan, Solo, Surabaya and other cities went on in a peaceful manner as well.
