TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta provincial government guaranteed that the audit performed on 30 Transjakarta buses would not disrupt services provided by the company. The audit was performed to guarantee passenger safety.
Acting Jakarta Governor Sumarsono said that Transjakarta would continue to provide transportation services with slight changes.
"If there's a question whether [the audit] will disturb the services, the answer is not necessarily. There are many case alternatives. The only thing that changes is the frequency of the bus arrivals," Sumarsono said at the City Hall in Jakarta on Friday, December 2, 2016.
Sumarsono revealed that the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) requires an operation of a product to be put on hold whenever an accident occurs, while the cause is still unknown. Sumarsono added that the SOP also requires a comprehensive audit to be performed to all vehicles.
Sumarsono has set a target to complete the audit on 30 Transjakarta buses next week.
"The sooner the audit is performed, the faster we can continue the operation. I don't want to see buses catching fire over and over," Sumarsono asserted.
