Jakarta Rally Participants Swarm Juanda, Gondangdia Train Station

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Thousands of people continue to march towards the National Monument (Monas) area to join the Jakarta mass rally, dubbed Aksi Bela Islam III (Third Act to Defend Islam). Mass are flocking at two train stations near Monas area: Gondangdia and Juanda.
Security personnel have been standing guard to maintain order at the train stations. “There are also 15 TNI [military] personnel,” said a security personnel at Juanda station on Friday, December 2.
The officers at Juanda station information center continued to ask the mass to maintain order and keep the place clean.
Train station officer did not hesitate to reprimand those dwelling at the station only to take selfies. “Sir, please move forward. Be considerate of those walking behind you,” said the officer.
The mass wearing all-white attire continue to arrive from Jakarta Kota, Bogor and Bekasi. Women and children were among the rally participants.
Meanwhile, Tempo observed that commuter rail service at Gondangdia station was also full of protesters. Along the stations of Gondangdia and Juanda, mass were seen marching towards Monas, while shouting takbeer (praising God) and reciting salawat.
