TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police has scheduled to summon inactive Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama on Thursday, December 1, 2016 in relation to the religious blasphemy case.
The summons letter was signed by National Police's Criminal Investigation Corps (Bareskrim) director Brig. Gen. Agus Andrianto on November 30, 2016.
National Police Spokesperson Sr. Comr. Martinus Sitompul confirmed the summons after Ahok's dossier was declared complete.
"Today, we received the case files that has been examined by the Attorney General's Office (AGO), and they said that it is now complete. Investigators will summon Basuki Tjahaja Purnama so we can hand over his case to the Prosecutor's Office," Martinus said at his office in South Jakarta on Tuesday, November 30, 2016.
Martinus said that Ahok's case will be handled by the AGO's prosecutor team. Martinus added that investigators will submit evidences to the team. According to Martin, Ahok has declared his readiness to voluntarily answer the summons without having to be picked up.
