TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The rupiah closed Monday's trade, November 28, with a slight correction after spending the first half of the day going strong against the US dollar.
This morning, the rupiah opened with a 055-percent gain or up by 75 points to Rp13,450 per US dollar. Before the end of the first session, the garuda appreciated more, this time by 32 bps, or 0.24 percent, to trade for Rp13,493 per US dollar.
However, the rupiah lost its stronghold against the greenback, and was corrected by 0.05 percent, or down by 7.0 bps, to trade for Rp13,532 per US dollar.
Last week, the rupiah closed the trade with a 0.24% rebound or gaining 33 bps to Rp13,525 per US dollar.
Investors' focus is directed at the United States' GDP growth revision on Tuesday night, with estimates that it will rebound to 3.0 percent YoY. The global financial market is also facing a new uncertainty stemming from the Italian referendum, which is scheduled to happen on December 4.
In the domestic market, investors are still focusing on the November inflation, which is expected to rise. Meanwhile, last week's canceled rally slightly reduced investors' anxiety over the domestic political situations. Investors are now starting to be on the look-out for the rally planned to take place this Friday, December 2.
