TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Flash floods and landslides struck back a number of places in Tuban subdistrict on Friday (25/11). The floods and landslides were caused by torrential rain that lashed throughout Tuban and Bojonegoro.
It is the second time that the flood happened earlier this month on Saturday (12/11). The floods came from highlands in Southern Tuban such as Montong, Grabagan, and Semanding districts. The precipitations from the three districts caused Avour Jambon areas and roads to be inundated up to 40 cm high.
Tuban Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) attempts to bring heavy tools to a number of flooded roads in Merakurak disrict. However, due to repairs being done to the water channels, some places are clogged. “This causes the flood to subside longer,” Head of BPBD Tuban Joko Ludianto said in Tuban on Friday (25/11).
Rain heavily pouring in highlands in Kendeng Utara mountains made the residences of Parengan subdistrict bordering with Bojonegoro concerned. Until Friday evening, rain downpoured several places in Bojonegoro. Meanwhile, water level in Bengawan Solo went higher due to the rain in the upstream and water flow from 13 tributaries . However, BPPD Bojonegoro has anticipates the rise of the water level.
